Hello all, I was wondering who sells pinned acoustic guitar bridges with a 1/8" saddle slot already routed? I have found plenty ready made bridges with 3/32" slots but not any 1/8". Thanks for any info! |

I cut my own. I made a fixture to hold the blank at the proper angle. I hold the blank in place with doubleside carpet tape from the BORG. I then use an edge guide on my laminate trimmer to make the cut. I usually cut the slot in 3 passes. I should use end stops, but I usually just make dots with a silver felt tip to indicate the ends of the cut. The same fixture could be used to widen existing slots if you do not want to carve your own bridge. I use a downcut bit because it makes a smooth cut, but it packs chips in the bottom of the slot. Between passes I dig out the chips with a dental pick. Al |
